Elopement Risk Management: Safety Starts With Us

This course equips employees in Personal Care Homes and Assisted Living facilities to understand and reduce dementia-related elopement risks by exploring what elopement is, why it occurs, and how it can affect resident health and safety. Participants will learn to distinguish normal dementia-related wandering from exit-seeking and elopement, recognize common causes and warning signs, apply person-centered prevention strategies, and respond promptly and appropriately when a resident is missing.
