Managing Up: Leadership at Every Level

Leadership does not only happen from the top of an organization.
Every leader operates within a larger system and must know how to communicate effectively with supervisors, senior leaders, coworkers, and other departments. The ability to manage up helps leaders build productive working relationships, understand organizational priorities, communicate concerns effectively, anticipate needs, present solutions, and appropriately influence decisions.
This interactive virtual program explores practical strategies for managing up in assisted living and senior living environments. Participants will examine how to communicate information senior leaders need, distinguish between decisions they can make independently and matters requiring escalation, present problems with possible solutions, disagree professionally, provide proactive updates, and build credibility through accountability and follow-through.
Through polls, discussion, assisted living scenarios, practical exercises, and a final managing-up challenge, participants will develop strategies they can immediately apply within their own leadership roles.
