SLU’s community life materials include an activity and recreation services resource manual, certificate program, and in-services to strengthen any activities program. To address the needs of today’s active older adults, Senior Living University has developed the Exercise Essentials manual and companion Finding Fitness DVD. These materials emphasize the importance of engaging residents in physical activities to foster independence. To compliment the Exercise Essentials manual, SLU is pleased to offer the Osteoball ®, created by Dr. Robert L. Swezey. This unique, inflatable ball has been proven to build bone and muscle – without the use of weights – when used in isometric exercise.
